Walking My Cat

My cat and I go out walking
Like we've often done before.
Round and round the cottage we go
And anywhere he wants to explore.

I say that I take him out walking
But actually he's the one who takes me.
Holding his leash I follow him
To wherever he wants to be.

He runs straight for the back door
Whenever he wants to go out.
If I don't pay immediate attention
His purring becomes a loud shout.

He knows just where his leash is kept
And sits there staring straight at it.
I know if I don't react right away
He'll pitch his famous hissy fit.

So out the door he drags me
I hold tight so he won't run away.
And I think to my self "thank Goodness"
This happens only once a day.

When you mention walking your pet, the first thing that comes to
most people's mind is your dog.
Walking a cat is usually thought of as just a joke.
But believe us it can really be fun. They may be a little harder
to train but once they get used to the routine and the leash
it becomes easier for them and for you.
The main thing it takes is patience but is
well worth the effort.
