Walk Away

I've begged you so many times
To walk away from me.
Leave me to let my heart heal
That's how we should let it be.

We were happy for such a short time
And then the troubles began.
Though you say they all came from me
I was doing the best that I can.

Troubles often come to us
Though we try the problems to avert.
They appear when least expected
Leaving behind teardrops and hurt.

Life is too short to live alone and in pain
So go forward we surely must try.
To find peace in our remaining days
With no more bitter tears to cry.

So please go on and be happy
Look for a rainbow on a cloudy, stormy day.
Remember the past with a little tenderness
Don't look back, please turn and walk away.
