Wales

Away from the seashore, high into the hills
We crossed over the River Wye.
The scenery enthralled us with wonderful thrills
And we hope to return by and by.

The crisp mountain air refreshed us
As we toured each beautiful site.
Each place was more lovely than the one seen before
We traveled onward from dawn into night.

Though the miles were long, we enjoyed them
As we went to each exciting place.
Everyone was friendly as they greeted us
Each with a smile on his or her face.

All too soon our journey was over
We drove home through soft, misty rain.
My friends smiled and said "now you've been to Wales"
I answered "I'd surely like to go back again".
