My Strange Umbrella
I have a strange umbrella,
That I've carried around for years.
It doesn't protect me from the rain,
But helps shelter me from my fears.
I brandish it like a weapon,
When sadness comes sneaking by.
With all my full force I use it,
To prevent the tears I may cry.
It's carried me safely down many roads,
Sometimes it looks tattered and torn.
But I know when I close my eyes at night,
It will be there when I awake in the morn.
You might think I'm foolish to keep it,
You might shake your head for awhile,
But my strange umbrella will always be with me,
For it's my love of life, and a bright, ready smile.

Sometimes when sadness and troubles seem to drag you
down and you're not sure just what to do, face it with a
smile. Though it's hard to smile at times, you may find that
it will come back to you tenfold for a smile is contagious.
And by having smiles come your way from others, your
troubles may be easier to tackle head on. Never stop
smiling and never give up.
