Tribute To Cactus

You were a tiny bundle of fur
Wild as wild could be.
The wolf hidden inside of you
Just wanted to be free.

When I first held you, your tiny claws
Grasped me then went straight to my heart.
I knew from that very moment
We would never more part.

You became known as Super Dog
Because your ears stood up so high.
Whenever you would run free
I thought you almost could fly.

You grew to be my constant companion
With a heart filled with love and devotion.
Each time I looked at you my soul soared
With feelings of such deep emotion.

Our time together seemed so short
For one day you stood at Heaven's door.
As you looked at me and I whispered goodbye
I knew your spirit would be with me evermore.

I still love and miss you, my precious Cactus.

Cactus was a one of a kind companion. Half Chow, Half Wolf
with an unconquerable spirit, but a totally devoted friend.
Though he has been gone four years on Febrauary 20th, it is as
if he is here with me every minute that goes by.
Sometimes I can almost feel him watching over me.
Though he doesn't belong to me, I have found another true
friend in Bracklesham Bay, England, named Bob who I call
my Bobo. Bobo is my best friend Kaye's huge black Labrador.
We bonded the first time I visited them and my love
for him has grown deeper ever since.
Because of my frequent travels there, I will never
replace Cactus, but Bobo gives me his total love.
At least when he isn't sleeping, which is
most of the time *grin*.
