Thirty Six And Holding

When you see this old body dressed young
It's possible you feel like scolding
But let me tell you now my friend
I'm thirty-six and holding.

Now I don't wear mini skirts
Or silly things like that.
But I dye my hair and wear my boots
And put on a perky hat.

I feel right saucy and pert
As I walk around strutting my stuff.
When people look at me they say
Now that old lady don't bluff.

I get energetic and ride my bike
Though I never get anywhere
For it's stationary here in my living room
But I don't really care.

Then I don my Reeboks and out I go
Wearing my sweatpants and shirt
With my head held high I bounce along
Like a Thirty Six and Holding flirt

There is an old saying " You are only as old as you feel ".
To be young at heart can help keep you young in mind.
My body tells me I am seventy but as my son
has always told me, I'm thirty six and holding
and loving every minute of it.
