The Bond

It's been a few long years now
Since we stood and laughed together
But the bond we formed so long ago
Is one that will last forever.

As each of us stand on a different shore
Gazing out over the shimmering sea.
We think about more pleasant times
And of places we'd much rather be.

Like exploring the English countryside
Out for a Sunday afternoon drive.
The togetherness and laughter we shared
Made us so happy to be alive.

Our special bond of friendship
Is the once in a lifetime kind.
Although we're now parted by thousands of miles
We can still read each others mind.

But now we are forced to live our lives apart
Our only comunication a computer screen.
We will cherish the memories that live in our hearts
As the sun sets on our beautiful dream.

Sometimes when two people meet an instant bond of friendship is formed.
This bond embeds itself deep in their hearts and neither
time nor distance can break it.
Though circumstances may make it impossible to be as close
as they would like, that bond will remain forever.
A true friendship is something that nothing can take away.
If this happens to you, cherish it for it is unsurpassed and most precious.
A close friend is truly a "quiet angel in disguise".
