Stonehenge

An air of mystery surrounds them
These great pillars of stone.
Silently they reach toward the stars
As they stand majestically all alone.

High on a hill in a vast meadow
Only this circle of stone stands.
No one knows it's reason for being there
Only that it was fashioned by ancient hands.

We walked up next to those mammoth stones
In weather that was bitter cold.
Though shivering, we felt compelled to see
This monument so very old.

Our trip to Stonehenge was for my son
Who has always longed to go there.
Now when I return to my home once more
I'll have photos and souvenirs to share.

Mom & Kaye

There are many wonders in this huge world of ours which
remain a mystery. The story of their beginnings has been lost
in the mists of time. Those who have the chance
to visit them are the lucky ones, indeed.
