You gaze intently at me and then say
It's time for you to get a new hat.
I think for just a second and say
You know it's funny you should say that.

I've looked around at all my hats
That I've got laying there in store.
Then I think to my self now really.
I'm sure that I need one more.

So off my friend and I venture
Gazing in to the windows of every store.
We try on fashions for all occasions
And designer hats by the score.

There's skirts that end above the knee
That somehow don't look right.
And skimpy designer sweaters
That are oh, ever so tight.

Then you head straight for the jackets
And I make a rush to the hat section.
But it's hard for us to make a choice
For they have such a huge selection.

I try on a great big floppy hat
And you don a sexy looking jacket.
Everyone thinks we have gone crazy
For we're making such a loud racket.

Finally we make a choice and you say to me
You sure look good in that shade of blue.
I answer it's funny you should say that
For I was going to say the same thing to you.
