Lonely Sails Touch

We were two souls wandering alone
Searching for our true destiny.
Lost in our years of loneliness
Adrift in a meaningless sea.

We passed in the night like two ships
Never knowing the other was there.
Never seeing the sails on the horizon
Nor hearing the horn of despair.

Onward we drifted on life's lonely tide
Ladened with sorrow and pain.
Yet ever we sailed with hope in our hearts
As the years touched us like swift driving rain.

Then the tide brought us into a harbor.
Words flashed like signals in the night.
We answered with hope, never dreaming
A new haven would soon be in sight.

Now we sail forward, no more searching
Bonded in love's sweet caress.
Heading for our future together
Anchored in true happiness.

Just a twist of fate can make all the difference in two lonely souls merging.
Have you ever walked through a door and glimpsed someone going in
the other direction and wondered who that someone might be?
Perhaps all it would have taken was to be a few seconds earlier or later,
and the events of your life might have taken a different turn.
The most wondrous of all that can happen is when two very lonely people
have searched all their lives for that very special someone they know is out there
waiting and then by just a moment in time and a twist of fate
they meet and their lives are changed and taken in totally new directions.
From that point on, they can only go forward.
