A Single Red Rose

Instead of a bouquet of flowers
You gave me a special gift.
A single red rose to gaze upon
Whenever my heart needs a lift.

The rose was warm and inviting
As it glistened with morning dew.
The droplets gave off reflections
Of the Happy times spent with you.

My love is overflowing
As I hold it close to my heart.
And dream of the time forthcoming
When we will never more part.

So to you my special Valentine
I thank you for this rose.
I'll cherish it with all my heart
For it brings you ever so close.
