The Rainbow

Let me tell you a short story
One that is sad but so true.
About a lady who wandered lost and alone
With a heart that was aching and blue.

The peace she searched for seemed out of reach
No matter how far she did roam.
Her soul was filled with sadness and pain
And she had no place to call home.

Happiness eluded her as she traveled on
Down life's long and winding road.
Her shoulders became bent and weary
From the many years heavy load.

Then one day there appeared through the misty rain
In the sky a beautiful shimmering rainbow.
Her shoulders grew straight and her steps firm
As onward toward that brightness she did go.

She knew that at last her journey was over
And never again must she roam.
For happiness was waiting just up ahead
In that rainbow was the place to call home.

Many of us journey through life searching for an elusive dream.
For the lucky ones who find that dream at the end of the rainbow,
there can be no greater happiness. Never give up on your dreams.
They may be waiting just around the corner.
