Privacy is the keyword
When you travel England's land
For the hedgerows border the throughways
And hide the gardens so grand.
Neighbours are hidden from neighbours
By fences and flowering trees
Hearing only the sound of Collared Doves
And perpetual buzzing of bees.
You daren't peek over fences
If you are inclined to sight-see
For you'll hear "Get on with you now,
And leave me to my privacy"
So onward you travel the narrow roads
Marvelling at the many shades of green
And the lovely country cottages
Hidden by hedgerows in between.
The English value their privacy over all
And the serenity of their home
Their gardens are their safe haven
From which they seldom roam

England is such a beautiful country made up of many shades of green. Because of the numerous hedgerows you sometimes feel as though you are going through a tunnel of green. Often these trees and hedgerows meet in the middle creating a canopy across the roads with the odd glimpse of houses and fields in between.
