A Mother, A Friend
You helped me as I was growing, Mom
You taught me so very much.
Standing quietly by my side
Always there with your tender touch.
You'd scold me when I was doing wrong
Then hug me to chase away my tears.
The lessons you gave me as a child
Have carried me through the years.
Each time that I try something new
When unsure, I can hear you say.
As you put your hand on my shoulder
"Now Honey, I will show you the way".
You've been my shoulder to lean on
You've given me love that knows no end.
And on this special day I say to you
You are my mother and also my friend.
