Our Little Owl
Our Little Owl is so precious
His beautiful body round and small
He watches over all that's around him
From the branch of a tree so tall.
This Little Owl sleeps in the daytime
Deep within the hole in a tree.
Waiting patiently for the moon to rise
So that his bright eyes can see.
As soon as the sun goes down
You will see the Little Owl come awake
Swooping gracefully from tree to tree
Until the rising sun heralds daybreak.
Then it's time for the Little Owl
To once more close his eyes and sleep
He returns to his hole in a tree
Waiting for his next night vigil to keep.

The Little Owl is a favourite bird of mine and Betty
painted this one at my request.
What a beautiful job she did of it too.
As soon as she sent it to me I could feel inspiration
flowing and promptly put pen to paper.
I hope you enjoy the results of my inspiration.
I am sure you will agree that Betty is a
very talented artist
