Your Little Boy

I think of when you were taken from us
On that tragic day not so long ago.
We can still feel your presence around us
And oh how we miss you so.

Your little boy is growing fast now
Standing tall as you used to do
With his curly hair and his crooked smile
Yes, he gets that from you.

He means the whole world to me
And he keeps me from feeling torn apart
Each day he says "Mom I love you"
Which eases the sadness in my heart.

Sometimes he seems so very distant
And I wonder where his thoughts can be
I know he misses you very much
Yes, he gets that from me.
