Lindsey Luck

"Lindsey Luck" has followed me
All the way to England's fair land.
It brought it's tendency for bad weather
To all the trips we had planned.

My friends laughingly asked
Why did I bring it with me?
Didn't I know that sunny skies
Is what we would want to see?

Heavy rain and blustery winds
Have been with us almost everyday.
And no matter how we pleaded
Lindsey Luck wouldn't let them go away.

But when I return in August
I'll definitely leave it behind.
The people in my little hometown
Surely shouldn't mind.

It is a standing saying in many places that if you
don't like the weather, "just wait awhile". The trouble
this time is, the "whiles" have lasted too long. And
we call it between us "Lindsey Luck" for it seems to have
followed from the US to England. We will still continue
to "wait awhile" and hope it is better in the summer.
