Hiding In The Flowers

I'm just a little puppy dog
Who loves hiding in the flowers
From here I can watch the world go by
As I while away the hours.

You see I remain invisible
To the shy little bluebird as it sings.
I can watch in awe at the beauty
Of a hovering butterfly's wings.

If I sit here waiting patiently
With my eyes on that big oak tree
I may just see a squirrel
As it scurries about close to me.

As I peek out from the blossoms
And look up towards the sky
I see Mallards watching with pride
As their babies learn to fly

I see ponies out in the pasture
Scampering around wild and free.
Oh, how I'd love to run with them
I wonder if they would let me?

A sound reaches out towards me
The Mourning Dove's lonesome call.
It's sitting up on the roof top
I sure hope it doesn't fall.

In here I remain well hidden
From the neighbours big Tom cat.
If he sees me he will chase me
And I surely don't want that.

So I'll stay hidden in the flowers
Until my dinner calls me at last
Then you'll see me coming out of here
And running for home very fast.

Puppies are so precious and full of mischief as they discover
the world around them. They give hours of joy
to us simple humans.
