I Am

I am......
Alone and so lonely
Unhappy and sad
Worried and frightened
So mixed-up and mad.

Too short and too fat
Too ugly, too old
My days are so long
And my nights are so cold.

I work way too much
With no time to play
My body's tired out
My hair has turned grey.

But I know....
I have so much
To be thankful for
The sun in the heavens
The waves on the shore.

Friends who are special
And touch me each day
Who tell me they love me
And brighten my day.

My precious companion
With love in his eye.
Who watches over me
Whenever I cry.

So, when I feel lonely
And cry out for love
I stop and count the things I am
I am....
Blessed from above.
