How Many Times

How many times must a heart break
Before it's beyond repair?
How many times must a soul sink
Down to the depths of despair?

Where does a heart find solace
When there's nowhere at all left to turn?
When all the dreams have turned to dust
Leaving only lost bridges to burn.

Where does a shattered soul retreat
When there's no hope left to be found?
Does it fall quietly to the wayside?
Like Autumn leaves fall to the ground.

Does a broken heart hide silently
Behind a wall made of stone?
How many times must a soul cry out
When it's standing once again all alone?

Perhaps one of the greatest pains a person might suffer in their
lifetime is the pain of a broken heart.
And to suffer it repeatedly is almost unbearable. The only
solace is to retreat into your dreams and think it through.
And pray that in time, the pain will ease.
We should never lose sight of hope for it will see us
through the bad times.
