Just Part Of The Furniture

I'm just a part of the furniture
That's what my dear friend does say.
For when I'm visiting him and his family
Life goes on in the usual way.

He knows that I love him
Just as I know that he loves me.
No, not in the sense of lovers
But as only true friends can be.

He takes me to many different places
Throughout England's fair land
And if I falter or stumble
He's there to lend a helping hand.

When my plane is nearing the airport
Roy and his wife Kaye, my best friend, are waiting there
To wrap me in their arms of love
And show me how much they truly care.

So I'll gladly be a part of the furniture
Through sunshine or through pouring rain.
And cherish the memories we made together
To take with me when I must leave again.

To be with cherished true friends and be treated as part of their family
has to be one of the most wonderful feelings in the world.
If you have the love of such friends, you must consider yourself
as one of the luckiest people in the world.
I know that I do.

Betty

To have a friend who blends in just like part of the furniture
is truly a blessing. Betty blends in well and is part of our family.
Both my husband and son love her dearly. Our two dogs
Poppy and Bobby adore her.
And as for me.... all I can say is she is my dearest friend
and I love having her here with us.
We love you Bett
