We Celebrated

We celebrated our birthday together
Though we're four thousand miles apart.
The internet and our web cams
Let us share the friendship in our heart.

The packages had waited on our desks
For the arrival of our special day.
As we watched each other open them
It seemed we weren't that far away.

As we opened each separate tiny gift
In our eyes we saw glistening tears.
For the happiness we have known together
During these wonderful years.

Soon we'll be a family again
There in that far away land.
We'll share joy in all that surrounds us.
As our souls join once more hand in hand.

Oh what a joy it is to be able, through the wonders of the internet,
to share time with loved ones on special days.
Much has been said about the internet but it can
be a blessing to many. It has to us and
we will be ever thankful.
Next year we intend to celebrate the 13th.August
together in Bracklesham Bay
