DOWN  BY  THE  RIVER

I went walking down by the river
The night was balmy and blue.
And as I sat staring in the waters
My thoughts turned to memories of you.

The reflection I saw in my mind's eye
Was the love that once shone on your face.
It reached out and pulled at my heart strings
Taking me back to a happier time and place.

A time when the rainbows were ours
When we laughed and loved together as one.
When storm clouds never seemed to touch us
And we walked hand in hand in the sun.

Now down by the river is my only haven
The place where I find peace at last.
Where my soul can relax and remember
And be thankful for my memories of the past.

Memories are an important part of everyone's life.  Lesson's can
be learned even from the bad memories.  We should strive only to
learn and never try to dwell in the past. For that time is over and
the  present and future is what now counts most. Just be thankful
that you have those memories to look back on.
