Leaving Here A Better Man

With tears in your eyes you hear me tell you
That I'm leaving and soon will be gone.
But because of you I know in my heart
That I'll be able to carry on.

Knowing you has lifted me higher
Than I ever was and so much more.
Though I wish that things could still be
Just the way they always were before.

I think about the time when we first met
How your eyes shone when I said I love you so.
The love still remains deep in my heart
Yet I know it's time for me to go.

Your love gave me courage to try again
Things I couldn't do before but now I can.
So after knowing you I can now tell you
I'll be leaving here a better man.

I have always been a huge fan of Clint Black.
His voice is outstanding and the stories in his songs reach
out and touch your soul. This is one that has such special meaning to
me and I'm sure to many others. Though relationships sometimes must end
we should all learn from them and go forward with new determiination.
