Just Another Hero

He is just another lonely Hero
Awaiting his destiny.
As he battles with his fear and loneliness
He wonders what his future will be.

He carries on relentlessly
Not knowing what he will meet out there.
Unable to see what is on the horizon
His mind fills with panic and despair.

Onward he moves on his lonely trail
Fighting heartache and pain.
Yet he carries on with hope in his heart
And the dream of returning home again.

He suddenly becomes alert and attentive
As the enemy comes into sight
His intensive training is now put into action
As guns flash like stars in the night.

His fear and despair now gone
As he does what he is trained to do.
He is just another Hero fighting for freedom
Freedom for me...and for you.
